Bible - Import to Jesus
by A.J. Wilson
John 15:7-8 (emphasis mine)
“If
you abide in Me, and My words abide
in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By
this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My
disciples.”
Jesus delivers the
above teaching in the upper room with his disciples during their last night
together before his crucifixion.
Jesus tells his disciples that “I am the true
vine,” (v.1) and “without Me you can do nothing” (v.5) so it is important to
know how we can have Jesus with us in all we do.
In the above scripture Jesus shows his disciples
that they must keep his words (or the Bible) with them in order to be
fruitful.
Jesus placed a high importance on the scriptures,
constantly and consistently quoting from the Old Testament and also
referring his followers to the teachings of ‘Moses and the Prophets’.
Here are some scriptures you can look at to see
some examples of how Jesus used and respected the scriptures and a place to
write in some of your own thoughts:

The
Bible contains no errors, is correct in all that it addresses, and will be a
“light unto our paths” at all times.
When something is important to us, we devote
time, effort, and resources into that something.
The Bible is no different.
We should find a regular time to read our
Bibles, with consistency.
The length of time doesn’t have to be an hour,
only a few minutes are necessary, but remember that God desires your
devotion to him.
Once you find the time that works best for you,
let it be a priority and do not let the worries and demands of the world
keep you from your fellowship with him.
Ask
God to help you examine your love for his Word, and show you any areas which
need any work.
