    The Power of One
	“His lord said to him,
'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things,
I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'”
Matthew 25:21 There is tremendous power within
	our words and our actions.
Many clichés will remind us how it only takes
one person to begin a great move.
(ex. One spark can start a forest fire.)
	 This
particular piece is the result of the sincere word spoken to me last Sunday
after our church service. (Warning: You never know when a conversation with
me could turn into a devotional!)
I had been given the opportunity to close the
service in prayer, and I prayed what was on my heart.
In truth my own words had not “blessed my soul”
but a dear brother in the Lord came to me and said that the prayer had
blessed him and went on to compliment me very highly.
While the compliment did make me feel good
(feelings), his words also blessed my soul to know that God had used my
	words for His glory.
My few words had blessed my brother, and his
	words blessed me.
The Bible has much to say about the power of
one person on the world around them, even with just a few words. Many faithful servants of the Lord
were unnamed in the Bible, yet their words encourage us and stoke our faith
	even today.
Two beautiful examples of this are the unnamed
Shunammite woman and the Jewish servant girl of Naaman’s wife from 2 Kings 4
	& 5.
Not only did these two ladies know the power of God
and his servants, but they used this faith to minister to others.
It seems that too often God gives us the words
or resources to minister to others, but we hold back due to confidence,
	fear, or other reasons.
We are a part of the church of Jesus Christ
today because at least one person decided to share their faith in Jesus with
	us.
It seldom takes many words, as long as they are
inspired by the Holy Spirit, to bless those around you.
Think of the power of these words especially
	spoken by Jesus: Arise (Luke 5:24, 6:8, 7:14, 8:54), Repent (Math 4:17),
Hypocrite (Math 7:5) Baptize (Math 28:19), among others.
On this occasion take time to reflect back to the “words”
which have inspired you and consider what it could take for God to use you
to continue to share his love and message to the world around us from
